Payments from Pots on a business account
You can make recurring payments (like Direct Debits, standing orders) directly from one of your Pots, instead of from your main account.
Tap the Home icon in the menu bar, then scroll down to the Pots section
Tap on the Pot you wish to set this up for
Tap Set up or Edit next to “Scheduled payments”) then pick which payments you'd like to pay from the Pot
You’ll need to set up your Direct Debit or standing order first, if you haven’t already. When your bill's due, it'll be taken from the Pot.
You can also pay online from Pots with Monzo Business Pro
With Monzo Business Pro you can link virtual cards to a Pot and use that to pay online, like for subscriptions.
To set this up, you have two options:
Select the Pot, scroll down and select “Add new card” next to “Virtual card”. Note, you cannot add an existing virtual card to a Pot this way, you'll need to create a new one.
Or, you can go to virtual cards in the Home screen, tap on Create virtual card, tap on pay from and select any of your open Pots and then tap on Create. Your card will be automatically linked to the pot you’ve chosen.
So you know, if you pull your Monzo Business transactions through Open Banking, eg. to Quickbooks, Virtual Cards on Pots transactions will be included in the information (but they won’t be reflected in your ‘overall account balance’).
