A Monzo card isn't a credit card
The physical card you get with your Monzo account is a Mastercard debit card. It is not a credit card.
You can use it for your day-to-day spending and for cash withdrawals. Any money you spend will come straight from your Monzo account.
We do offer a credit card alternative, called ‘Monzo Flex’
If you sign up for a personal account, you can see if you’re eligible for Flex.
Monzo Flex comes with a virtual Mastercard. If eligible, you can use it to spread the cost of purchases over 3 instalments interest free, or over 6 or 12 instalments at 29% APR representative (variable).
You can use the virtual Flex Mastercard online and in-store if you add it to Apple Pay or Google Pay on your phone.
There is no contactless limit on the card. You can flex any amount as long as you’ve got enough available credit.
You can also wind back the clock, by choosing to flex purchases you made using your Monzo Mastercard debit card in the last 2 weeks.
You can learn more about Monzo Flex here. You need to be over 18 to apply, and terms and conditions apply.
