What protection do I have by paying a payment link or an invoice?
Monzo doesn't offer any guarantees, insurances, or other forms of protection on payments you make through Monzo payment links, however the bank you made the payment from may be able to help if something goes wrong.
If you pay by easy bank transfer, your payment is treated like any standard faster payment transfer. We'd encourage you to read the sending banks terms and conditions for further information. Most UK banks offer a scheme to provide refunds to customers who have been scammed by illegitimate businesses.
If you pay by online card payment, your card issuer might be able to raise a "chargeback" with the merchant. This is a dispute via the card network (Visa, MasterCard etc) but needs to be raised by the sending bank.
If you notice something is wrong with your payment, or you've been charged an incorrect amount, or have other concerns, please contact the business you have paid in the first instance and if they are unable to resolve your issue then it's best to contact your bank or your card issuer.
