Paying in a cheque

Here’s how to pay a cheque into your personal or joint account. For business accounts, follow these steps instead.

Right now we only accept cheques by post. We can’t accept any cheques at our offices.

Choosing how to send your cheque

📮 Send by regular or tracked post (recommended) | 1 to 2 weeks

  1. Write your 8-digit account number and 6-digit sort code on the back of the cheque in the top left corner. (Tap ‘Manage’ from the Home screen to find these)

  2. Make sure the name on your cheque matches the name on your account. (Head to the [Home tab], tap on your profile icon (if you can’t see that, swipe down on your card), if needed, tap on the settings cog, tap your name).

  3. Take a photo of the front and back of your cheque, as a copy.

  4. Pop your cheque in a stamped envelope and post to us at: Monzo, PO Box 7628, Bilston, WV14 4DG

  5. We’ll let you know once we’ve got your cheque and it usually takes 3 to 6 working days from that point to get your money.
